What is Microneedling and how does it work?
SkinPen ™ is a new, FDA-approved innovation in aesthetic medicine for the treatment of fine lines, acne scars and improvement of the skin’s overall appearance.
Prior to the treatment a local anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin. This makes the procedure comfortable with minimal discomfort. During the microneedling procedure, a growth serum is applied to the skin and the SkinPen ™ device is then glided across the treatment area. Tiny needles within the device are used to create controlled ‘micro-injuries’ to the skin in order to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. The treatment will also allow topical serums and creams to be absorbed more effectively into the skin.

What happens during the microneedling procedure?
Prior to your treatment with Collagen P.I.N™ microneedling, one of our medical practitioners will apply a topical numbing cream to the skin.
A sterile needle-tip containing tiny microneedles is attached to the Collagen P.I.N.™. We will then apply a thin layer of growth factor serum to your skin and select the appropriate treatment depth based on your unique needs. Next, in a single motion, the Collagen P.I.N™ will be gently glided across the skin until the entire treatment area has been covered. This results in thousands of microscopic channels throughout the entire treatment area which will allow the growth factor serum to penetrate deep into the skin and give amazing results.
Skin will look slightly pink to moderately red after treatment but this should settle within a few hours.
How many microneedling treatments will I need?
Typically a series of 3-6 Collagen P.I.N.™ Microneedling treatments is recommended, depending upon the area of correction or concern. Our highly experienced team will ultimately determine a treatment schedule based on your individual goals and desires. Treatments are usually spaced in 4 week intervals.
